Pierre Gasly wants to fight at the front of the grid
While his future is still uncertain for 2023, the Frenchman is showing his ambitions. He wants to play a leading role.
Pierre Gasly is in doubt. At least, that’s the prevailing feeling. Currently under contract with AlphaTauri for next year, numerous rumors are sending him to Alpine, alongside Esteban Ocon.
For now, the man who won the Italian Grand Prix is unable to provide any answers regarding his future in the sport. “For the moment, it’s out of my control,” he declared to Sky Sports F1.
The Frenchman is grateful for the efforts made by Red Bull’s little sister that led him to victory, two years ago now. However, he doesn’t intend to stay there for the rest of his life and expresses his ambitions. « My ambitions in Formula 1 are to compete at the front, and that’s what I want. »
It has been five years at AlphaTauri. We’ll see if I do another year there, but for the moment, that’s what is planned. If that’s the case, I will give my 110% to this team.
The driver number 10 also indicates that he is in a complicated situation with more negatives than positives, which need to be sorted out. He concludes by stating that the upcoming weeks could improve the situation.
