Daniel Ricciardo with a helmet paying tribute to Valentino Rossi
The McLaren driver unveiled a special helmet, just before the race start.
Champions recognize champions. Daniel Ricciardo decided to pay tribute to the Italian motorcycle legend, Valentino Rossi. While competing in the Italian Grand Prix at Monza, the McLaren driver unveiled a new race helmet.
The Australian has adopted one of the designs used by the nine-time motorcycle world champion. On this one, you can see Daniel Ricciardo’s face prominently displayed on the top of his helmet. On the back of the helmet, his nickname “Honey Badger” is written, using the same typography and color scheme as the Italian’s design.

He is not the only one paying tribute to Valentino Rossi, in fact, last year, his teammate Lando Norris was wearing a cap with VR46’s effigy.
