Ranking – Sergio Perez loses his second place
Sergio Perez, handicapped by his penalties in Monza, lost his second place in the championship, to the benefit of Charles Leclerc.
This Sunday, following the Monza Grand Prix, the rankings have barely changed. At the top, Max Verstappen has further extended his lead with an additional 8 points over Charles Leclerc. He now has a 116-point advantage over the Monegasque.
Now in second place, the Ferrari driver has extended his lead over Sergio Perez, who started far back due to his penalties for engine component changes. His team asked him to go through the pits at the end of the race to snatch the fastest lap from the Monegasque, but he lost a few positions and therefore some points.
At the bottom of the rankings, Pierre Gasly benefits from Daniel Ricciardo’s retirement to reclaim his 12th place. Noteworthy is the performance of Nyck de Vries, driver of the day, who scores 2 points and enters the chart.
Among the constructors, McLaren is getting closer to Alpine, which didn’t score any points today with Fernando Alonso’s retirement and Esteban Ocon finishing in 11th place.
