Max Verstappen is on another level in the standings after the Netherlands

A boulevard, a clear path to the title… Numerous expressions can describe the advantage that Max Verstappen now has over his rival for the title, Charles Leclerc.

The Monegasque, who had lost his second place to Sergio Perez in Belgium, has regained (with the same number of points – 201) what is rightfully his, but sees his chances of being crowned champion further reduced. With the Dutchman’s new demonstration, he finds himself pushed back by 109 units, which is more than four Grand Prix.

Behind the two men, George Russell’s excellent result allows him to gain a position at the expense of Carlos Sainz, who received a penalty late in the race, dropping him to eighth place.

In the constructor standings, Alpine, which had a slower pace than McLaren, manages to widen the gap even further from the British team. With both cars scoring points, the team based in Enstone now has a 24-point lead over its rival, compared to 20 before the race.
