Will Fabio Quartararo soon test a Formula 1 car?

Rumors have emerged in the press this weekend suggesting that Fabio Quartararo would have a test with the Mercedes team later in the year, but nothing seems to be scheduled at the moment.

The Moto GP world champion has even been spotted with Lewis Hamilton this week. The two drivers, on vacation, took the opportunity to spend time together at the seaside.

The Yamaha driver spoke about the possibility of driving an F1 car: « With Mercedes, it’s something we’re working on. However, nothing is planned yet. Obviously, it’s something that I really desire. I’ve already used the simulator, I’ve been in the car, but I haven’t had the chance to use it yet. »

I had a really good day with Lewis [Hamilton], but we didn’t talk about the races. We were just having a great time surfing and jet skiing, it was an amazing day.

As a reminder, Quartararo had already been visiting Mercedes last year and had the opportunity to test the simulator during the Silverstone Grand Prix. He had completed over 50 laps and had already expressed his desire to drive an F1 car.

Formula 1 teams have already offered several tests to Moto GP riders, such as Valentino Rossi in 2019 and Jorge Lorenzo in 2014 with Mercedes. Marc Marquez had driven a 2012 Red Bull in Spielberg in 2018.

Romain Grosjean also has a planned test with Mercedes, which was promised to him by Toto Wolff, but there is still no announced date.
