Mick Schumacher frustrated after his invalidated time in Q1
The young German driver was forced to stop in Q1 after his last lap was cancelled. He demands that track limits be more precise and well-defined.
Frustration was prevalent after the first qualifying session. During Q1, Mick Schumacher had his final lap time canceled after exceeding track limits at turn 3. As a result, he was unable to proceed to the rest of the session. A situation that didn’t necessarily sit well with the German.
« It’s true that there is a rule and it is the same for everyone. Unfortunately, I have exceeded the limit, but it is certainly something they will have to discuss to see if we can find a slightly less complicated way, maybe something that allows a little more leeway.

« If there is a boundary marker and the marker flies away, it is indeed a violation of the track limits. But in this case, the marker was still there.
»
The same trajectory as during the trials.
The thing that annoyed the son of the seven-time world champion is that he claims to have taken the same trajectory all weekend and received no feedback regarding going off track.
« I think it would be good for us to be informed about it as early as the free practice sessions. Nobody told me, I followed exactly the same line during all three practice sessions. »
And the fact that afterwards, because of this, my turn was eliminated in qualifications. Maybe it would be good to have someone who informs us. You know then what you are allowed to do or not. In my case, I was really convinced that what I was doing was right.
The Haas will then be condemned to a crazy comeback this Sunday. Kevin Magnussen will start from the last position following his engine component changes. Mick Schumacher will start from the 17th position.
