The Alpine will evolve at the Paul Ricard circuit
The French team will make improvements to their car on the sidelines of the French Grand Prix. A satisfying element after the recent good results.
Never two without three. In recent weeks, Alpine seems to have found solutions to improve Esteban Ocon and Fernando Alonso’s racecars. After a first wave of new parts at Silverstone and then at the Red Bull Ring, it is at Paul Ricard that new elements will be introduced.
Beyond performance, it is primarily reliability that is lacking in the Enstone team. Fernando Alonso is the main one affected by Alpine’s issues and he once again paid the price during the sprint race in Austria. Despite these setbacks, the situation seems to suit Esteban Ocon, who was also forced to retire in Silverstone.
« It’s very positive, and we are very happy to see that what we brought to Silverstone has made a difference. We can really see it now. And I hope that the next developments will be just as significant. We still have work to do to be as competitive as Mercedes, because they are still too fast. So if the team can bring more things, we’ll take them, says Esteban Ocon, who finished fifth in the last race.
A new floor
The blue and pink car proved it: it is capable of going fast. However, the manufacturer in Dieppe knows that its A522 adapts well to its evolutions, which will be an interesting workspace for the rest of the season.
« We still have a bit of work to do in terms of regularity. Sometimes, I felt that we didn’t have the pace we could expect. But this weekend was perfect in that regard. There is still a learning curve for us to consistently perform at this level. But clearly, this weekend was one of those where we optimize everything.

In order to maximize the chances of success for the French brand on its home turf, Alpine will introduce a new floor at the Paul Ricard circuit. With a good result there, the team led by Otmar Szafnauer could reclaim the fourth place in the constructors’ standings from McLaren, on equal points with Alpine (81).
