Suspended fine for the drivers present on the podium
The three drivers present on the podium have been sanctioned by the FIA. The presence of a physiotherapist in the Parc Fermé is being reproached to them.
In a short amount of time, Charles Leclerc, Max Verstappen, and Lewis Hamilton went through all the emotions. While the trio made up the podium of the Austrian Grand Prix, all three of them were summoned to the stewards’ office after the celebrations.
The FIA reproached them for the presence of their physiotherapist in the Parc Fermé, as it is prohibited. This was indicated in a note sent to the entire paddock on Sunday morning.
The commissioners then opened an investigation and the presence of the physios was confirmed by the videos. The pilots’ right-hand men are not allowed to be in that area « partly to prevent the passing of objects before weighing ».
For this offense, the teams of the three drivers have received a suspended fine of €10,000. If this were to happen again, the sanctions could be more severe, potentially leading to the revocation of individuals’ access to the paddock.
