It’s a very complicated weekend for Valtteri Bottas. While he is certain to start from the back of the grid on Sunday, his wallet is also going to be lighter.
During the first free practice session, the Finnish driver was caught speeding in the pit lane. While the speed limit is set at 80 km/h, the Alfa Romeo driver was flashed at 103.7 km/h. As a result of this offense, he will have to pay a fine of 1,000 €.
The pit lane of the Red Bull Ring is not the Finnish driver’s best friend. Last year, as he was leaving his garage, he spun out. The McLaren mechanics had to realign his Mercedes and he was penalized.
