For Helmut Marko, Tsunoda is a “problematic child”
The head of Red Bull's young drivers program has claimed to have hired a psychologist to manage Yuki Tsunoda. The Austrian referred to him as a "troubled child."
Yuki Tsunoda is a fiery and highly aggressive driver. Since his arrival in Formula 1, the small Japanese driver has been reprimanded several times. Between unavoidable accidents and driver errors, the AlphaTauri driver has caused some issues for his team managers.
His malnutrition issues and lack of training have forced Franz Tost to move him near Faenza, where the team’s factory is located. Recently, Red Bull, who manages AlphaTauri and by extension Yuki Tsunoda, has hired a professional to rein him in.
“We have enlisted a type of psychologist to work with him, because he continued to seethe around the bends, which impairs his performance,” said Helmut Marko to Servus TV.
« We must keep our emotions under control. Thank God, Max [Verstappen] is calm. Our problematic child in this regard, not only in this regard, is Tsunoda. He explodes on the radio, you wouldn’t believe it. »
After a disastrous British Grand Prix where the Japanese driver sent his teammate Pierre Gasly off track following a collision, he will try to make up for it this weekend in Spielberg.
