Silverstone is a real-life test. For this Grand Prix, many teams have brought updates to their cars. Including Alpine. While the running was very limited during the first practice session, the second one was more productive.

So it was in the afternoon that the teams were able to try out their new packages. In this session, Esteban Ocon was trailing behind his teammate, as half a second separated them. After this first day, the French driver explained that he had to back off due to a problem found with the improvements made to his car.

We didn’t drive much in FP1 because of the weather, so it was good to be able to do consecutive laps during the scheduled afternoon session. However, towards the end of the second session, we noticed a small crack in the bodywork and decided to play it safe by not pushing too hard towards the end, the number 31 driver asserts.

Having arrived this weekend with some developments, it was essential for us to see how the car performed with them, and I would like to thank once again all the factory staff who worked so hard to have these improvements ready for our home race. Preliminary data seems to indicate that they are working well, and we are looking forward to getting the most out of them tomorrow [in qualifying].

In the constructor standings, the French team has 61 points and is in 5th place, 4 points behind McLaren.
