Nigel Mansell will reunite with his 1992 Williams Renault

The famous Williams Renault adorned with the red number 5 will return to the track for the famous annual hill climb race that brings together collectors from around the world.

Every year, numerous Formula 1 constructors and teams showcase iconic models that have made their mark in the history of racing and the automotive industry as a whole.

In 2022, Williams will once again make the famous Renault V10 engine of the FW14 B sing, which led the British driver to the World Championship title.

As a reminder, during the 1992 season, the British lion won 9 victories in a championship that consisted of only 16 races. Nigel Mansell is a driver who became famous for his aggressive driving as well as for his mustache, which he carried throughout his career.

This driver is part of the history of F1, having piloted for the biggest teams of the 80s/90s, namely Lotus, Ferrari, and above all Williams, with whom he will achieve the majority of his successes.

Furthermore, he also became champion in Cart (the precursor of Indycar) in 1993 after being fired by Williams Renault. In 1994, he returned to F1 to replace the late Ayrton Senna and ended the season on a high note by winning the Australian race in Adelaide at the age of 41.

Finally, he will unsuccessfully attempt a comeback in 1995 with McLaren and Jordan in 1996. Nigel Mansell’s Formula 1 record consists of 31 victories out of 187 starts, as well as 32 pole positions.
