Charles Leclerc driver of the day in Canada
The Monegasque was awarded the title of Driver of the Day after his comeback during the Canadian Grand Prix.
It is a spectacular comeback that we witnessed. Starting from the penultimate position on the grid (due to a complete engine change), Charles Leclerc was destined for an attacking race if he wanted to score big points and thus minimize the damage in the championship.
He surpassed his competitors one by one thanks to the speed of his car and of course, his ease on the track. However, he was blocked behind a group of much slower drivers after his pit stop, which Ferrari – once again – missed. This cost him valuable time, which perhaps could have allowed him to finish in fourth place.
The driver number 16 is now 3rd in the championship with 126 points, which is 3 points behind Sergio Perez (who retired) and 15 points ahead of George Russell.
