Several drivers reprimanded
Lance Stroll, Pierre Gasly, and Sebastian Vettel have been reprimanded for not respecting the track re-entry at turn 14.
These are small sanctions that could have significant effects if repeated too often. This Friday evening, during the second practice session, three drivers were summoned to the stewards.
Thus, Sebastian Vettel and his teammate Lance Stroll, as well as Pierre Gasly, had to explain how they returned to the track at Turn 14 after missing it. The race direction reproaches them for not staying completely to the left of the orange marker before rejoining the track.
The French and the Canadian claim to have seen the orange marker « too late ». On his part, the four-time world champion stated « that he didn’t expect the marker to be there, as it had disappeared during the first practice session. »
Despite their explanations, the three drivers received a simple reprimand. This is the first one for the German and the AlphaTauri pilot. Lance Stroll had already received one earlier in the season.
