The Sunday Times established a list of the personalities who have given the most to charity. The Briton came in 5th place in this ranking.
Lewis Hamilton is a big-hearted driver. On numerous occasions, the Briton has distinguished himself by donating a portion of his fortune to charitable causes or associations. We can mention, among others, his donation of $500,000 to Australia in 2020, which was devastated by flames.
And the generosity of the British has not waned since. This Tuesday, June 14, the Sunday Times established a list on which all the most generous personalities are recorded. To establish the ranking, the magazine relied on data from the Charities Aid Foundation.
Since the beginning of the year 2022, the Mercedes driver, whose wealth is around 300 million pounds sterling, donated about 20 million last year, which represents about 7% of what he has earned in his career. These are mainly vital causes in the fields of youth, health, and education. He is ranked 5th (the ranking is done based on the percentage between wealth and the total amount of donations).
This concerns the only athlete, with the football club Liverpool’s striker Mohammed Salah, to be part of this ranking.
