A forgettable weekend for Haas
Both American team drivers were forced to retire. One due to technical issues, the other following an accident.
Haas’s Monegasque weekend ended on the 27th lap. After a delayed start due to rain, Mick Schumacher made some driving errors that dropped him to the bottom of the standings. And, on the 27th lap, the Grand Prix completely stopped for him after one error too many.
In the twists of the pool, the son of the seven-time world champion put a wheel off track, on the wet part. This caused him to lose control of his car, which violently hit the techpro barriers at the exit of the second chicane, to the point that his car was split in half. Luckily for him, Mick Schumacher managed to get out of the car himself.
A few moments before this impressive accident, his teammate Kevin Magnussen was forced to retire. On Twitter, the American team indicated that the Dane had to throw in the towel due to a loss of water pressure in the system.
The American team continues with a third consecutive Grand Prix without scoring any points (after Miami and Spain). However, they remain in eighth position in the constructor standings, with 15 points, ahead of Williams and Aston Martin.
