The Haas drivers were reprimanded

This weekend, the drivers paraded in front of the commissioners. Already this Friday, no less than six competitors were summoned and two of them received reprimands.

And this Saturday, the list got longer as both Haas drivers, Kevin Magnussen and Mick Schumacher, also received an invitation after the qualifications. They were criticized for driving too slowly during several laps in the qualifications.

The majority of the cases were the result of drivers following another driver who was also on an out lap, and as each driver tried to create a gap with the preceding driver, they progressively went slower until a “train” exceeded the minimum time. However, on the five occasions when these “trains” formed during the qualifying laps, driver Mick Schumacher in car number 47 and driver Kevin Magnussen in car number 20 were the first, or both, to exceed the minimum time, according to a statement from the FIA.

Following this offense, both drivers have received a reprimand, which will have no impact on their starting position on the grid tomorrow.
