New engine for Mercedes
Lewis Hamilton and George Russell will have new components on their cars this weekend.
This weekend, the Formula 1 world returns to Europe and most of the teams are bringing numerous parts for this event, whether it be to improve the cars or to change components.
And for the Spanish Grand Prix, the Mercedes drivers will be driving an almost new car. Lewis Hamilton was given a new gearbox for his W13. He and his teammate also received a new engine, another turbo, and an MGU-H and MGU-K.
The two drivers are not the only ones to have received new parts on their car. Guanyu Zhou is changing his MGU-K for the first time this season.
On his side, Sebastian Vettel was equipped with new batteries before the start of the first free practice session.
Ferrari has also introduced a new gearbox for the leader of the world championship, Charles Leclerc.
None of these changes will result in a penalty for the drivers, as they are still within the authorized limit of the number of components for a season.
