These circuits where the pole sitter has won the most

During the qualifications, all drivers seek to obtain the pole position. The latter allows them to secure the best spot on the grid and, theoretically, an advantage for the race. However, this is not always true as some tracks offer more overtaking opportunities right from the start.

We can particularly mention Monza, Spa, and Mexico which have long straight lines from the very beginning of the race. And these circuits are among those where the pole-sitter has the least chance of winning, with respectively 35%, 39%, and 43% chance of victory.

And in Monaco, where it is often said that the one starting from pole position wins, what about it? The track that takes the streets of the principality is on the same level as the other circuits mentioned just before, as in 43.3% of the races, the pole sitter has emerged victorious.

On the other hand, Le Castellet, Singapore and Barcelona are the circuits where the poleman has the highest chance of winning. Indeed, Paul Ricard has crowned the fastest in qualifying 10 times (out of 17 races), Singapore 8 times (in 12 starts) and Barcelona 23 times (in 31 GPs, or 74%).

So, this weekend, the fastest in qualifying theoretically has a strong chance of winning on Sunday.
