Ferrari in secret testing at Monza
Charles Leclerc was behind the wheel of his Ferrari SF75, this Friday, in Monza, as part of a promotional filming day. A significant security setup was put in place.
This is an exercise that is not usual for the Italian brand. This Friday, Ferrari was present at Monza, with Charles Leclerc, as part of a promotional shoot, as they are allowed twice a year. The shoots are limited to one hour.
But, a major security arrangement was implemented around the temple of speed, preventing the tifosi from infiltrating the site and catching a glimpse of Charles Leclerc’s car.
But the way Ferrari organized this test raises a lot of questions. Although this session is heavily regulated and limited, the Scuderia could have installed new components or tried out new upgrades before the Spanish Grand Prix. Changes that will be made in Barcelona, as confirmed by Mattia Binotto.
A spy photo taken in Monza shows that the rear wing of the SF75 is unpainted, which could indicate that it might be a new part.
So in a duel with Red Bull for the title, these developments could allow the brand with the prancing horse to stay in the race, knowing that the Austrian team would arrive in Spain with a car weighing 798 kilos.
