Carlos Sainz, third: “I wanted more, but it’s already not bad”
Third in Miami, Carlos Sainz was visibly a little disappointed at the finish of the Grand Prix. The Spaniard secures his third podium of the season, but Ferrari once again misses out on the victory.
After his third place in Miami, Carlos Sainz was a little disappointed. The Spaniard was unable to interfere in the battle between Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc. Starting second on the grid, he had to resist an offensive Sergio Perez to keep his place on the podium.
“It was very difficult to keep Perez behind me with his medium tires after the Safety Car, but it’s a decent result. It was a tough race with the tires, the heat, the car was sliding a lot. We got the result we deserved and we’ll have to build from that. Finishing on the podium? I wanted more but it’s already not bad,” explained Sainz as he got out of his car.
