Verstappen and Hamilton happy that F1 is developing in the United States

Not agreeing on many subjects in recent months, Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton have found common ground. The two main protagonists of last season’s global fight appreciate the development of Formula 1 in the United States. Very much aided by the resounding success of “Drive to Survive,” the sport has conquered the American market, which was previously more focused on its national motorsports like the IndyCar and its world-famous Indianapolis 500 miles.

But thanks to Netflix and a clearly stated determination by the sport’s governing bodies, Formula 1 has managed to find its place in the hearts of American fans. With three Grand Prix races in the United States starting next year (Austin, Miami, and Las Vegas), no country will host as many races as the USA.

The development of F1 across the Atlantic is an excellent thing for the reigning champion, Max Verstappen. « I think this weekend is going to be pretty crazy! I’m really looking forward to racing in Miami. I’ve tested the circuit in the simulator and we’ve prepared as best as we can without having been on the actual track. Step by step, we are making F1 more popular. I think not only the drivers are very excited, but the fans too. », rejoiced the Dutchman.

A position shared by Lewis Hamilton. « I grew up knowing how extraordinary this sport is and seeing that there was still some disconnect between the United States and the rest of the world in terms of passion for this sport, it’s really incredible to see what we’ve achieved and that there is a growing love in the United States. » expressed the seven-time world champion in satisfaction.

« There are huge sports fans out there. And I mean Miami is going to be an experience for all of us, for the racing community, for the fans watching, for the fans who will be flying in and might have never been there before. The United States has a lot to offer in this field, so it’s very exciting. » hopes Lewis Hamilton.

If there’s no doubt about the enthusiasm of the drivers, the only answer that will matter will be on the track this Sunday starting at 9:30 PM.
