Carlos Sainz extends with Ferrari until 2024
Ferrari has officially announced the highly anticipated extension of Carlos Sainz. The Spanish driver has signed a two-year contract extension that will keep him with the Scuderia until 2024.
It was expected, and now it’s official: Carlos Sainz has extended his contract with Ferrari for an additional two years. While his contract was set to expire at the end of the year, the Spanish driver will now driver the legendary red car until at least 2024.
Sainz, who arrived in 2021, had a convincing first season by finishing fifth in the championship, ahead of his teammate. With four podium finishes, the Spanish driver was undoubtedly one of the pleasant surprises of the season.
(I am very happy to have renewed my contract with Scuderia Ferrari. I have always said that there is no better Formula 1 team to race for and after over a year with them, I can confirm that putting on this suit and representing this team is unique and incomparable. My first season in Maranello was solid and constructive, with the whole group progressing together. The result of all this work is clear so far,” the Spaniard stated.)
(I feel strengthened by this renewed confidence in myself and now I can’t wait to get in the car, to give my best for Ferrari and to give its fans something to rejoice about. The F1-75 proves to be a leading car, which can allow me to pursue my goals on the track, starting with my first Formula 1 victory,” he continues.)
In 2022, despite his teammate’s overwhelming domination, Sainz continues to show that he is a reliable driver for Ferrari with two podium finishes in three races. With his contractual future secured, the Madrilene will be able to fully focus on his work on the track and hope to clinch his first victory in F1.
