Charles Leclerc, victim of a theft of a watch worth 300,000€

According to Italian sources, Monégasque driver Charles Leclerc was with friends and his coach Andrea Ferrari in Italy. Around ten o’clock at night, he was recognized by fans and stopped for photos and autographs.

Only, more and more people gathered around Leclerc and a thief took advantage of it to steal his watch, a Richard Mille worth €300,000. Let’s remember that Richard Mille has been a long-time sponsor of Charles Leclerc, in addition to being a partner of Ferrari since last year.

The driver went to meet the police authorities of the city of Viareggio who are currently trying to determine whether the theft was premeditated or if the thief simply took advantage of the moment. As for Charles Leclerc’s coach, he explained the situation and complained about the lack of light in Via Salvatori. Moreover, the residents of the neighborhood had already been lamenting this lack of lighting for quite some time.

On Instagram, Andrea Ferrari declared this Tuesday: “The Via Salvatori has been in complete darkness for several months. We have been pointing it out for a while now. So, last night in Via Salvatori, they stole from us. Do you plan on fixing the lamps one day or another? I’m asking for a friend.”

Charles Leclerc is not the first driver to have experienced this. During the finals of the Euro football championship at Wembley Stadium, British driver Lando Norris was also a victim of a watch theft.
