Leclerc expects a new duel with Verstappen
The Monegasque from Ferrari and his Dutch rival from Red Bull have already fought well on the track during the first two Grand Prix races of the 2022 season. This is why Charles Leclerc expects to have to fight again with Max Verstappen in Australia.
The battle is raging at the front between Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc, both already having a victory to their name. The only significant difference is that the Ferrari driver obtained his victory while Max Verstappen was forced to retire in Bahrain for the opening round.
This Sunday, the start of the Australian Grand Prix will be launched at 6am. And with all the new features of the circuit, the Monegasque prefers not to speculate too much about the chances of the Scuderia. However, he expects a new battle with Red Bull on the Albert Park circuit.
(e) “Everything is up for grabs,” confides Charles Leclerc. (e) “And I think we will be in the middle: it will always be very tight, it’s not like there will be a big gap, so if we have a perfect race, anything is possible. I think the old track would suit us better, but that’s how it is now, and we will try to optimize everything this weekend as we always do, and with a little luck, the Imola track will suit us better,” reveals the Monegasque.
For the moment, Charles Leclerc is leading the championship, just ahead of his teammate Carlos Sainz. As for Max Verstappen, he occupies the third position in the drivers’ championship.
