Lewis Hamilton’s message on mental health
Mental health is a recurring topic, especially in the sporting world. British seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton opened up about it on his social media.
Recently, many athletes have been speaking out about their own mental health and the challenges they face throughout their careers. Despite seven titles and over 100 victories in Grand Prix, the Mercedes driver has experienced tough moments, especially towards the end of last season, and wanted to open up about his feelings.
“This year is already difficult with everything happening around us,” the British person shared on their social media. “It’s hard to stay positive on certain days. I’ve been struggling mentally and emotionally for a long time, moving forward is a complicated effort but we must continue to fight. We have so many things to do and accomplish.”
With these statements, Lewis Hamilton joins another driver. His compatriot Lando Norris has also spoken out about the often neglected mental health of athletes. The message conveyed by these athletes sheds light on what some of them may experience, like Japanese tennis player Naomi Osaka.
(I) I am writing to you to say that there is no problem in feeling things in your own way, just know that you are not alone and we will all get through this situation! » continued Lewis Hamilton. (I) A friend reminded me today that we are so strong and we can do anything if our mindset is there! Let’s not forget to live in gratitude in a new way that allows us to be better. I send you love and light. » he concluded.
