Lewis Hamilton didn’t want any changes in Jeddah
This Sunday, the drivers will take their positions on the starting grid in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. While some believe that the changes made to the track are insufficient, Lewis Hamilton, on the contrary, hopes that the circuit hasn't changed too much.
Almost four months after the spectacular entry of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix into the drivers’ calendar, they are starting all over again on the Jeddah circuit. In the meantime, the organizers of the Grand Prix have slightly modified the track, notably widening certain corners to offer more visibility to the drivers. And while these modifications were considered minuscule by Carlos Sainz Jr and Charles Leclerc, the British Lewis Hamilton hopes that the track remains the same.
« I don’t even know what changes have been made, I just know that they changed the last turn. I don’t really know what other changes there are. We didn’t need more visibility, I hope they didn’t modify it too much and didn’t take away what the track was. Hopefully, it’s still the same. » the seven-time world champion revealed.
Mercedes has had a rather difficult start to the season, despite a podium finish and a fourth place in Bahrain. The W13 cars are still struggling with porpoising and, for now, the German team is behind its two rivals, Ferrari and Red Bull.
