Is Max Verstappen ready for Jeddah?
Max Verstappen expressed his willingness to leave behind the Bahrain fiasco and focus on the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, and he appears to have trust in his team.
Red Bull is not likely to forget this first round in Bahrain. Everything was going quite well for the RB18, occupying the second and fourth places for the majority of the race. But two laps from the end, everything changed and both Red Bulls were forced to retire.
“The past weekend has been very tough for all of us to accept,” confessed Max Verstappen. “We win and we lose as a team and we will come back stronger this week,” he affirmed.
However, this was only the first race of a long season for the drivers. And the reigning world champion is confident: “We have a good package,” he declared. While Red Bull was behind Ferrari in this first Grand Prix, the RB18s were not the least powerful on the track.
As for the Jeddah circuit, it underwent some modifications in a few months in order to improve the visibility for the drivers. They made some adjustments for visibility in sector 1, so I’m curious to see how it will go this time, added the Dutchman. It’s a really fast track with long straight lines, and this year the cars are a bit heavier. It’s going to be really interesting to see how they will perform. I’m really looking forward to it, it should be enjoyable, he concluded.
