Martin Brundle: “Verstappen seemed annoyed throughout the race”

The Bahrain Grand Prix was not the most glorious for Red Bull, with two retirements just two laps before the end. And apparently, the problems started right from the start for Max Verstappen.

Martin Brundle: “Verstappen seemed annoyed throughout the race”

As Red Bull was about to score valuable points during the Bahrain Grand Prix, the last two laps turned out to be catastrophic. It’s a disaster for the Austrian team, with Max Verstappen’s RB18 unable to move forward and Sergio Pérez’s abruptly stopped.

For former F1 driver Martin Brundle, the problems started much earlier for the young world champion, whose radio exchanges seemed tense. Verstappen seemed annoyed throughout the entire race, he explained. Annoyed that he couldn’t push further after the first two pit stops, annoyed by the rapid wear of his tires, and extremely annoyed by the lock-up of his power steering. And after that, the cruel end of the race that questions reliability, Brundle continued.

Red Bull’s little sister didn’t have much luck either, with the incident involving Pierre Gasly. His engine gave out and the AT03 caught fire. According to Brundle, the fuel remaining increasingly hot at that moment would be partly responsible for the technical failures of the RB18.
