Carlos Sainz did not have an “ideal day” this Friday
If Scuderia Ferrari has been among the fastest, Carlos Sainz believes he did not have the best possible day this Friday.
Although he achieved the third fastest time in yesterday’s second free practice session, Carlos Sainz admitted to not having the best feeling with the F1-75.
« Unfortunately, I didn’t have an ideal day, “confides” the Ferrari driver. « Especially in FP2 where I didn’t have a good feeling, but nevertheless I achieved the third best time. Which means there is potential and we are doing well. Now, I have to find the right balance and the right feeling with the car on soft tires in order to progress further tomorrow, “states” Carlos Sainz.
However, this does not prevent him from being confident about Ferrari’s chances for the season. Therefore, the Spaniard agrees with his teammate Charles Leclerc and the team manager, Mattia Binotto, who all aim for a podium finish in Bahrain.
“It’s good to have the whole team fighting for the best positions from the start, unlike last year,” Sainz says. “It’s nice to see that the fastest laps come more easily than in 2021.”
After a long evening for Carlos Sainz, it remains to be seen during qualifying if the driver will be able to achieve his goal or not.
