Pierre Gasly in the colors of Ukraine
During the first free practice sessions this Friday, AlphaTauri driver Pierre Gasly appeared with a very special helmet in the colors of Ukraine.
Like Sebastian Vettel at the pre-season testing in Bahrain, drivers have shown their support for Ukraine. Since the Eastern European country has been attacked by Russia, many athletes have come together to show their support for the Ukrainian people.
If the Formula 1 paddock displayed “No War” t-shirts and flags on the track the day before the Bahrain tests, Sebastian Vettel went even further by adorning his helmet with the same colors and words.
Today, it’s the turn of Frenchman Pierre Gasly to openly show his support for Ukraine. Author of the fastest time this morning, the AlphaTauri driver has already expressed himself multiple times on his social networks, revealing the horror of the situation in this country. As the driver’s partner is of Ukrainian origin, the Frenchman has been actively involved by her side since the beginning of the conflict. But this time, he followed Sebastian Vettel’s lead by also displaying a blue and yellow helmet, a helmet that he shared on his social networks and accompanied by a link to the UNICEF website to help the local populations.
The two colors are clearly visible on the helmet, just like the AlphaTauri logo. On the top of the helmet, the words “No to war” are written.
For Peace
For Solidarity
For Ukraine 💙💛The conflict in #Ukraine is threatening children’s lives, many of whom need help to get to safety urgently. They need our support. Join me in helping #UNICEF to protect more children 🙏 link in bio https://t.co/ZFGZqyccit pic.twitter.com/o5KjFBMTI6
