A helmet in the colors of Ukraine for Sebastian Vettel
For these pre-season tests in Bahrain, Sebastian Vettel once again shows his support for Ukraine, which has been suffering from the Russian invasion for over a week.
He is undoubtedly the driver whose opinions we have heard the most. Following a movement of support from the entire paddock, the German shows his support for the Ukrainian people with a helmet in the country’s colors.
Yesterday, the Formula 1 drivers gathered on the track to show their support for Ukraine. After numerous sanctions from the FIA against Russia, Aston Martin driver Sebastian Vettel continues to defend the Ukrainian cause.
As the director of the Grand Prix Drivers’ Association (GPDA), Vettel is taking multiple actions to fight against the war initiated by Russia under Vladimir Putin.
The Bahrain tests started this Thursday morning, and the German driver took the opportunity to emphasize the importance of the cause. Indeed, the driver changed his usual colors. While the German flag is usually present on his helmet, it has been replaced by the Ukrainian flag. Two stripes, one blue and one yellow, now adorn Vettel’s helmet designed by Jens Munser Designs.
And that’s not all. The message « NO WAR », present on the pilots’ t-shirts during the shoot, also has its place on the helmet, just like the flags of the world on the bottom stripe.
