Winter Testing Guide 2022
As the season is officially set to resume on February 23rd, here is a practical guide on how the winter trials will unfold.
Unlike 2021, the 2022 season will be prepared in two phases for Formula 1 teams.
Each team will be able to use one car and the drivers will have to take turns at the wheel of the same single-seater.
First, the teams will meet for three days at the Catalunya circuit, in the northern suburbs of Barcelona. The teams will have access to the track from 9 am to 1 pm and from 2 pm to 6 pm.
Subsequently, the Formula 1 Circus will meet again on the Sakhir circuit on March 10th, 11th, and 12th, one week before the inaugural round on the same track. In order to adjust to the time difference, the track will be open from 8 AM to 12 PM and from 1 PM to 5 PM (which is 10 AM to 7 PM local time).
The Spanish session will be behind closed doors and no information about the timing performances will be released.
Regarding the Bahrain session, it will be streamed on the F1TV platform and will feature live timing.
