Andretti candidate for entry into F1 in 2024?
Mario Andretti announced via a message on Twitter that his son, who is the boss of the team that races Romain Grosjean, wants to commit to the top category of motorsport.
It is currently only a rumor, but the Andretti team has reportedly submitted their candidacy to join the Formula 1 World Championship by 2024.
Michael has applied to the FIA to field a new F1 team starting in 2024. His entry, Andretti Global, has the resources and checks every box. He is awaiting the FIA’s determination.

As a reminder, Michael Andretti had initiated negotiations with Sauber last autumn with the aim of taking over the Swiss team. Since the negotiations did not succeed, the new team would start from a clean slate and would have to spend no less than 200 million dollars, as stipulated by the latest Concorde Agreements.
The American team wants to ride the wave of growth that is affecting the United States with the contract extension for the Austin circuit as well as the creation of the Miami Grand Prix.
If Andretti were to enter as a team, it would be the second team from across the Atlantic on the grid, alongside Haas. Not to mention the two home races on the calendar, including Miami starting this year.
