Jack Aitken driving the Williams during FP1 in Abu Dhabi
The Williams F1 team, for which Jack Aitken is a reserve driver, offers the British driver the opportunity to take the wheel of the FW43B during the first free practice session in Abu Dhabi on December 10th.
Jack Aitken, 26-year-old British-South Korean driver, will make his return behind the wheel of the Williams single-seater in Abu Dhabi, as confirmed by the team in a tweet a few hours ago.

The driver had made his debut in 2020 at the tests for Williams during the Styrian Grand Prix in Austria. He was then called up for a race just over a year ago at the Sakhir Grand Prix when Lewis Hamilton contracted Covid-19. Jack Aitken thus took the wheel of his compatriot George Russell’s Williams, who was transferred to the wheel of the seven-time world champion Mercedes for one race.
Back on track after a serious accident
This announcement comes just four months after his accident at the wheel of a Lamborghini GT3 during the 24 Hours of Spa in July. However, this accident had left him hospitalized with fractures to the vertebrae and collarbone. It was at the beginning of the month that the driver returned to the wheel by rejoining the GT World Challenge series at the Barcelona-Catalunya circuit, with a now positive health report. The British-Korean had also finished sixth at the end of the race.
Did I sneak in to check if she still fits? Maybe.
Pumped to say I’ll be taking part in FP1 in Abu Dhabi with @WilliamsRacing once again, looking forward to closing this year out the right way. 🔥 pic.twitter.com/2IoUe8Ltid
