Official: McLaren unveils the colors of its MCL33
Return to full orange for McLaren and its new 2018 single-seater. The car, driven by Fernando Alonso and Stoffel Vandoorne, was unveiled this morning.
The presentation was an early one for McLaren, which unveiled its new model this morning at 8:00 AM. The MCL33 has gone even further than its predecessor in terms of colors, as it is almost entirely adorned in a historical orange for the Woking-based firm. A touch of blue adds contrast to a livery that is reminiscent of the one used for Fernando Alonso’s participation in the Indianapolis 500 last year.
This MCL33 is very streamlined, but there is no doubt that it will evolve significantly between the initial tests in Barcelona next week and the first Grand Prix in Australia.
This single-seater also marks the beginning of the association between McLaren and the engine manufacturer Renault, after three unsuccessful years of partnership with Honda. Podiums and even victories are announced, notably by Fernando Alonso. The Spaniard will once again team up with Belgian Stoffel Vandoorne this season.
Inspired by our history, driven by our future. Ladies and gentlemen, the McLaren #MCL33. https://t.co/6EYoGHxhf1 #BeBrave pic.twitter.com/yo9ebTU8ow
