Kubica will participate in three FP1 sessions this season with Williams

Williams unveiled the FW41 that will take part in the 2018 Formula 1 season. Young drivers Lance Stroll and Sergey Sirotkin will be behind the wheel throughout the year.

But to make up for this glaring lack of experience, the team based in Grove has chosen to rely on Robert Kubica as a reserve and development driver. But his role will not stop there, as the Pole confirmed yesterday that he would participate in three free practice sessions during the season, in Spain, Austria, and Abu Dhabi: “I will do three FP1 sessions. It will start in Barcelona, then in Austria I think, and finally in Abu Dhabi. I will also take part in winter testing and tests throughout the year.”

Kubica’s schedule, who returns to top-level competition after being out of Formula 1 since 2010 and his serious rally accident, is therefore complete: « It’s important to have a chance to drive. » the Polish driver further notes.

Currently, the regulations are such that piloting is limited throughout the year. The simulator plays an important role, and as an active member of this project, it is important to create a link between this tool and the real world. The most important thing is to help the team and support it, otherwise, I wouldn’t be here. confides Kubica.
