The Haas VF-17 presents itself at Barcelona

The suspense had already been killed in the bud since yesterday. The first images of the new car had indeed leaked on social media as early as this Saturday. You could clearly see the contours and design of the car produced by Gene Haas’s team.

At the wheel, Romain Grosjean, then Kevin Magnussen completed a few laps at low speed, as part of a day dedicated to promotional shoots. It was an opportunity nonetheless to carry out an initial shakedown, within the required 100 kilometers, all with demonstration tires.

On the technical side, the team based in North Carolina follows the trend with the famous shark fin on the rear part of the machine. Equipped with a Ferrari engine, the Haas F1 Team also shares similarities with the parent company in terms of the front wing and the deflectors on the same section.

Differences, however, can be observed in terms of design. The VF-17 stands out from its predecessor with a livery that is darker and closer to metallic gray. But like last year, the team with the star-spangled banner seems to still lack sponsors, with very few partners on the different pontoons…

Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen will therefore have the mission of ensuring the team’s enduring presence in the premier discipline. After a rather convincing first season, scoring 29 points (all earned by the Frenchman), it’s time for confirmation for the Haas F1 Team.

In the meantime, Melbourne, it is indeed the newcomer who will be the first to take the wheel for these private tests. The former Renault driver is expected this Monday to officially unlock this VF-17.
