McLaren enters a new era with the MCL32

It’s live on the internet, but also in Woking and Tokyo, at Honda’s headquarters, that the McLaren team launched its new car for the /f1/actualite/21707-changement-de-fond-en-comble-pour-le-moteur-honda-en-2017-coup-de-poker-payant-.html season, the MCL32.

The carefully guarded secret of the new McLaren livery was maintained until the end, and it is adorned in black and orange that the MCL32 makes its appearance within the walls of the Woking factory. Very few sponsors are present on the car, which naturally recalls, through its colors, the early outings of the brand created by the New Zealander Bruce McLaren.

This new single-seater also features, like many of its competitors, a shark fin on the engine cover. The Honda power unit that will propel Fernando Alonso and Stoffel Vandoorne has been completely revised this year, both in its design and architecture.

But these are also deep changes in McLaren’s organizational structure that occurred during the off-season and after the departure of Ron Dennis, the emblematic figure of the team, replaced by Zak Brown. A scent of renewal seems to be in the air at McLaren, and an evident spirit of reconquest hovers over the presentation of the new single-seater, which aims to quickly bring the team back to podiums after seasons of drought. The slogan “Change Your Game” that punctuated this presentation is there to remind us.
