Hamilton heads into US GP in top form
Having had to pull out of last week's Pirelli tests due to foot pain, Lewis Hamilton confirmed that he was 100% fit going into the US Grand Prix weekend in Austin.
Last week, Lewis Hamilton had to withdraw from the two-day testing organized by Pirelli at the Barcelona track due to persistent foot pain. He was replaced by Pascal Wehrlein for a day aimed at testing the new 2017 tires of the Italian manufacturer.
In a press conference yesterday, the British world champion stated that he was in full possession of his faculties as he approached the United States Grand Prix weekend: “I’m at 100% and I feel very good. I’ve had an injury that I generally carry all year, to both feet, and it’s due to running. The physio told me I need to do a lot of stretching and that it will resolve over time.”
A pain that prevented him from driving in Barcelona last week, from which he has fully recovered and which will not hinder his weekend in Austin: « I woke up in the morning, before the tests, I felt a great pain the day before that hadn’t diminished. But the most important thing is to feel good now and to feel even better for what’s ahead. This is the first week where I feel good! » concluded Hamilton.
