Haas and Grosjean still haven’t found the solution
The weekends are going by like clockwork for the Haas team. Lacking in performance for several races, the problems keep coming. Esteban Gutierrez was stopped in FP2 with a mechanical problem and Romain Grosjean is still struggling with his brakes.
Grand Prix after Grand Prix, Romain Grosjean’s speech about his car remains the same: the Frenchman does not understand the behavior of his car and has to endure the torments of recurring brake problems. Clearly, we had more problems with the brakes today, which doesn’t make our life easy.
The balance of his car does not give him entire satisfaction either, and a big dose of work awaits him to be minimally competitive tomorrow: « We are going to have a lot of work tonight to find the right balance on the car. But we are on one of the circuits where lap times are really tight. Two tenths of a second can make the difference. Hopefully, we will find them, wished the Frenchman.
Esteban Gutierrez saw his day’s program halted at the beginning of FP2, due to a probable engine issue: « It was a bit of a tricky day. We tried a few things to find the best possible compromise on all parts of the car. We now have a good idea of what we need to do. Unfortunately, my day ended with a failure this afternoon, but that won’t stop us from continuing our program on Saturday and staying focused on qualifying,” concluded the Mexican.
