Haas: Grosjean still frustrated and unhappy with his single-seater
One Grand Prix follows another for Romain Grosjean, who continues to struggle with the balance of his Haas. Esteban Gutierrez, on the other hand, is finding a degree of consistency in his performances.
Victim of a brake problem at the rear of his car throughout the Singapore weekend, Romain Grosjean thought he would experience a more serene Malaysian Grand Prix after the cause of the Singapore issue was found.
Not at all, since the Frenchman once again finds himself at odds with the behavior of his car: « It was a very tough session this afternoon. We didn’t manage to find the balance on the car. It’s frustrating. I’m not happy with the car. But we need to keep a cool head and come back tomorrow with solutions. »
A positive note nevertheless on this first difficult day: reliability: « If there’s a positive point today, it’s that we did quite a few laps this Friday. But there is still a lot of work to do to improve this weekend. »
On the other side of the garage, Esteban Gutierrez is a bit more positive than his teammate: « It was a very productive day for us. The track is very interesting. It is very smooth, which changes the settings and the way the tires work with the car. We are making good progress and I hope we will be able to make the most of these settings. »
