Massa would like to continue with Williams in 2017

The “Silly Season” hasn’t really started yet, but already, the drivers are starting to talk about their contracts for next season.

At Williams, Felipe Massa, whose contractual link ends at the end of the year, has already started to extend the adventure for at least one more season: “We are working on it, and we’ll see what will happen. I am certainly not wasting my time trying to understand what the future will hold.”

At 35 years old, the Brazilian driver believes that his experience will be beneficial to the future of the Williams team: “I continue to believe that it is very important to have a driver in your team who knows what he’s doing. They know how to improve things and to be honest, that’s what I’ve been doing with Williams these past few years. Part of these improvements is directly related to my input, my experience, and my help in making the car better and operating the team even more efficiently. That’s what we’ve witnessed over the past two years.”

But Williams would not be the only opportunity for Massa next season. Some rumors would even place him at Renault as early as 2017, a team with which he reportedly engaged in discussions during the Monaco Grand Prix weekend.
