Monaco F1 Grand Prix in figures

The organization of a Formula 1 Grand Prix is not a trivial matter. When the infrastructure is created from scratch to host the grand parade of single-seaters, it already requires a special organization and effort.

But when a city like Monaco decides to set up a circuit in its narrow streets, the dilemma becomes dizzying. It takes no less than 1,872 tires, 21 kilometers of safety barriers, 750 meters of Tecpro protection, and 20,000 m² of fencing to secure the entire track.

Around it, 9 cranes are set up to swiftly remove crashed single-seaters. To ensure the Monaco Grand Prix’s reputation for on-track responsiveness remains intact, the organization can rely on 646 track marshals and no fewer than 120 professional firefighters.

These men have at their disposal 799 fire extinguishers, which is equivalent to placing one every 15 meters all around the circuit. The men are equipped with 248 walkie-talkies to communicate with each other, and a helicopter is also ready to take off if needed.

From a more sporting perspective, this legendary track includes 19 turns, 8 to the left and 11 to the right, spanning 3.337 kilometers. The absolute track record, in its latest version, is held by Sebastian Vettel, who set a time of 1:13.556 in his Red Bull-Renault in 2011.
