Hamilton rejects theory of Mercedes conspiracy against him
Lewis Hamilton has clarified his position in an open letter, asking his fans not to believe the conspiracy theories about him. Some of them believe that Mercedes deliberately sabotaged the Briton's single-seater to boost Nico Rosberg's victories.
Accused by some fans of favoring Nico Rosberg at the expense of Lewis Hamilton, the Mercedes team is under the spotlight, brought into the public eye by some supporters of the Briton who believe that Toto Wolff’s men deliberately sabotaged the triple world champion’s car to enhance Nico Rosberg’s explosive start to the season.
Wolff had already labeled these theorists as “crazy” before Hamilton himself spoke out in an open letter published on his Facebook page, asking his fans to believe in the good faith of his team: « I would like to ask you to believe in my team, as I do. They are my family. These guys have been amazing, great hard workers by my side, and that’s why I am now a three-time world champion. » he notably states in this letter.
He therefore refutes any conspiracy and ends his letter on an optimistic note as he says he is still fighting to win the championship this year: « I believe in these guys 1,000 percent and all my mechanics are incredible, the best in the business. I respect them, so please, do the same. These are the guys who make it possible to win this championship. »
