Williams presents its FW38
The Williams team unveiled this morning the lines and new colors of its 2016 car. Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas are counting on competing for victory with this FW38.
It is through its official website and Facebook page that the Williams team revealed the car that will participate in the 2016 season.
The FW38 plays the continuity card both in its shapes and colors. But by the time we reach Melbourne, many modifications will still take place, as Claire Williams specifies: “We started the design work on the car earlier than usual, and we hope this extra development time will be very useful to us. The car we are launching today is far from being the final product. We are already planning updates for Melbourne, and we will do everything to have constant improvement throughout the season. Williams enters 2016 with a strong position. We have a great team, and over the past two years, we have started to regain our competitive edge.”
Comments supported by the founder of the team, Frank Williams, who is overflowing with ambitions for this new season: Williams has begun to cement its position, returning among the teams at the front of the race, after finishing third in the championship over the last two seasons. This has been a great achievement given the resources of those around us. Staying where we are will be a challenge in itself, but we are determined to continue improving because winning will never be good enough. We have a very stable team for 2016, with Felipe and Valtteri paired for a third consecutive season. They work well together and both have the ideal mix of speed and consistency. Our technical team has also remained very consistent, which will be to our advantage, and we have some of the best engineering minds on the grid at our disposal.
The first race of the season, in Australia, will be a real test for the team: « We will have to wait until Melbourne to know exactly where we stand in the hierarchy, but I am convinced that our hard work over the winter will be very useful to us. » concluded Frank Williams.
