Grosjean aware of taking a risk by joining Haas F1 Team

During the last Grand Prix of the 2015 season in Abu Dhabi, Romain Grosjean bid farewell to his long-time team: Lotus. Indeed, earlier in the year, the Frenchman decided to join the new American Formula 1 project led by Gene Haas.

If this choice might seem risky, the Frenchman is nonetheless confident about the future: « It’s a risk. You know what you have but you never know what you’re going to get. But it’s the same in life, when you change something, you know what you’re losing and you hope to have something better. It’s not a gamble because I have a lot of information and I am 100% confident in the project. »

Powered by Ferrari, the upcoming Haas single-seaters could very well be a stepping stone for its drivers to attract the Scuderia. Grosjean is considering it but it’s not his priority: *Ferrari will surely have the opportunity to look at my data. I’ve never been so close to them. But I didn’t go to Haas because I want to go to Ferrari.*

“I am with Haas because I like their project. I like the fact that it is an American team, I appreciate Gene [Haas] and Günther [Steiner] and the way they have entered Formula 1. If everything goes well and we find ourselves in Q3 in Melbourne, can you imagine how huge that would be! I want to be part of this adventure,” he concluded optimistically.
