Red Bull and Infiniti part ways

The Red Bull team has announced the end of its partnership with the manufacturer Infiniti. Next year, the Austrian team will use Renault power units, rebranded as Tag Heuer, and there will be no mention of the Renault brand, or any other partner of the French company, in relation to Red Bull.

Hence the withdrawal of Infiniti, a brand of the Renault-Nissan group, which Christian Horner, the team’s sporting director, takes the time to commend for their professionalism: « We would like to say a big thank you to Infiniti for their contribution to the team since our partnership began in 2011. They became the team’s title sponsor in 2013, having the most significant visibility among other brands in the discipline. We wish them the best for the future. »

The complete withdrawal of Renault’s brand image associated with Red Bull was one of the sine qua non conditions for the Austrian team to retain its engine for next year. In 2016, the official name of the team should be Red Bull Racing-Tag Heuer.
