Massa would like to stay with Williams in 2016
The Brazilian driver Felipe Massa would like to extend his journey with Williams in 2016 and exercise the option of an additional year provided for in his contract.
As rumors are circulating about a possible transfer of Valtteri Bottas from Williams to Ferrari for the 2016 season, his teammate, Felipe Massa, would like to continue his adventure with the British team.
The Brazilian driver joined the Grove-based team in 2014, after eight years with Ferrari. His final times with the Scuderia were rather difficult, and his arrival at Williams last year marked a revival in his career, with a pole position in Austria and several podiums, including a strong second place at the final Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi.
Buoyed by this great season and a solid start to the year, Massa would quite like to stay with Williams next year: « I don’t see why I wouldn’t stay here [at Williams]. I really enjoy working with this team. They respect me a lot, I feel comfortable here, and we have good results. We have an option for next year, and I really don’t see why we wouldn’t activate it. »
However, the Brazilian keeps an eye on other disciplines that might appeal to him, just in case: « Maybe Formula E or WEC, which I think are pretty cool championships with the best cars after Formula 1. But I don’t know. When I stop, I’ll have all the time to think about that! »
