Massa is frustrated by the lack of running time
The rain disrupted the second free practice session of the Monaco Grand Prix, preventing the drivers from completing their programs. Felipe Massa expressed frustration with the situation on a track where track time is crucial.
A little below their usual performances seen since the beginning of the year, the two Williams drivers were unable to string together many laps that would have allowed them to fine-tune their settings.
Felipe Massa was clearly frustrated by this situation on a circuit usually difficult for him to master: « It was not as productive a day as we would have liked because the rain greatly restricted our work. Our goal is for Saturday and the forecast does not call for rain, so there was nothing to learn for us in these conditions. We had a good first session with the soft tires, and we will take the data gathered from that. The Saturday morning free practice will be important. »
Valtteri Bottas, for his part, didn’t even make it into the top 10 during the two sessions: « We struggled to get the soft tires to work at their optimum and missed the chance to try the super-softs due to the weather. We have a lot of work to do to get the tire temperatures right. »
